// Our “Secret Project”: The Echoes of Creation Story Bible

// Coming Soon: more free resources!
Dear fellow story-dwellers,
Have you ever had something so deep on your heart that you found it hard to rest?
When my kids were younger, I was reading a lot of scholarship that made the overarching story of the Bible come alive in a new way for me. It captured my heart — and my imagination — so much that I had to share it with my kids. There was just one problem: I couldn’t find kids’ resources that made these connections.
What I really wanted was a Story Bible that shows how the stories of Noah, Abraham, and Israel repeat the story of Adam and Eve. I wanted one that shows how themes like “wild places,” “through the waters,” and “garden” repeat over and over again. I wanted one that shows how Jesus changes the ending of that echoing story and invites us into covenant partnership with God. And most of all, I wanted my kids to see the connection between creation and new creation…and how we get to partner with Jesus as he makes everything new.
A “Secret Project”
I started putting the pieces together in my journal years ago, in the form of an outline. I started writing, but then, it was like God hit pause. While I found other ways to teach the outline to my kids, I never stopped dreaming of that Story Bible. I told God that if He wanted it to happen, He would have to connect me with the right people. This project was simply too big to attempt without partners.
I now have a greater appreciation for those times in life when God hits the pause button. Those partners turned out to be Nicole Howe and Khrystyna Moroz. With Nicole also came an invitation to immerse ourselves in BibleProject’s paradigms as we designed OneStory’s curriculum and family guides. BibleProject’s podcasts, classrooms, and theme videos added new dimensions and depth to the dream of that Story Bible.
Nicole and Khrystyna have their own stories of how God was planting the seeds for this project deep in their hearts long before any of us met. The seeds were so deep that we’ve worked on it in quietness and hiddenness — so deep that The Echoes of Creation Story Bible has largely been a secret project for all of us.
Nicole and I resumed writing about three years ago. Then, last year (after two more unexpected pauses) Khrystyna began adding her art. But over the past few months, we’ve recognized that it’s time to stop working on this project in hiddenness.

Become Part of the Story
We’ll eventually share Nicole and Khrystyna’s stories, but first, we’d like to invite you to become part of this story, too.
Next month, we’ll begin pitching The Echoes of Creation Story Bible to publishers. The path through publishing is often said to be even more challenging than writing and illustrating the book itself. So much so that we are preparing ourselves for the possibility of self-publishing. Here’s where you come in:
Would you ask God to direct our publication path and that He would enable us to clearly discern that path? Whether it be self-publishing or working with a publisher who has the heart and vision for this project, it is extremely important to us that we follow God’s path to publication and not our own.
Do you have connections with a publisher who you think would be a good fit for this book? If so, please send us an email at hello@onestoryfamily.org
Our artist, Khrystyna Moroz, is a recent Ukrainian immigrant to Canada who is waiting on paperwork to come through before she can start her job in children’s ministry. Right now, her art is her primary means of supporting herself. Especially considering that she has donated around 100 hours to this project already, we would love to be able to provide financial support so that she can afford to continue working on The Echoes of Creation Story Bible. Would you consider making a donation?

Do you have a Bible Binder?
Meanwhile, I received a fun comment from a grown-up this week who shared that she uses OneStory’s free divider pages to organize her own Bible Binder. What’s so unique about our divider pages? The biggest thing is probably that they’re organized around the TaNaK order of the Hebrew Scriptures. This means they are especially great for those of us who like to print BibleProject’s book and theme guides.
We also recently redesigned the divider pages so that you can see where each scroll is located on the graphic BibleProject uses for their visual commentary series. Another fun new feature we included is English transliterations of the Hebrew scroll names. (Spoiler alert: the English transliteration of the book of Numbers isn’t Numbers).
More Free Resources in the Pipeline
We’re also still in the process of adding more free resources to our new website! We’re currently redesigning our One (Echoing) Story family guides, and our Teach Us to Pray homeschool curriculum is in the early stages of the PDF design process. Yea!
We also still plan to add a Sermon on the Mount curriculum, but it’s having to take its place in the queue, so we don’t have a date for that yet.
Meanwhile, you can visit our free resource library on our new website:
A Blessing
May you find delight in the hidden, secret things our Lord has invited you into. May you find joy in the smiles of your children. May you find peace and hope in the knowledge that King Jesus is in the process of making all things new.
In grace and peace,
Amber
